  1. The Tours

3.1. Our London Ale Trails are guided walking tours combining local history, heritage, architecture, brewing traditions and visits to historic public houses where appropriate.

3.2. Tour descriptions, routes, stops and durations are provided in good faith but may be subject to reasonable changes because of venue availability, public events, road closures, weather, safety considerations or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

3.3. We cannot guarantee admission to any particular pub, building or other venue unless expressly confirmed as part of your booking.

3.4. Unless stated otherwise in the tour description, food, drinks, gratuities, travel expenses and entrance fees are not included in the tour price.

3.5. Tour durations are approximate and may vary depending on walking pace, questions, venue arrangements and other circumstances.

  1. Age Restrictions and Alcohol

4.1. Our standard Ale Trails are intended exclusively for adults aged 18 and over. Participants must be at least 18 years old on the date of the tour.

4.2. We reserve the right to request valid photographic identification where there is reasonable doubt about a participant’s age. Anyone unable to demonstrate that they meet the age requirement may be refused participation.

4.3. Alcohol consumption is optional. Participants are not required to purchase or consume alcoholic drinks to enjoy the historical and cultural aspects of the tour.

4.4. Drinks and refreshments are at the participant’s own expense unless expressly included in the booking description.

4.5. Participants choosing to consume alcohol must do so responsibly and comply with the law and the rules of the licensed premises visited.

4.6. We reserve the right to refuse or discontinue participation where a person’s conduct, including conduct arising from intoxication, creates a safety risk, causes disruption or involves abusive or threatening behaviour.

4.7. Where a participant is removed from a tour because of serious misconduct or unsafe behaviour, no refund will normally be offered, subject to applicable law.

4.8. We do not control the products, services, admission policies or decisions of independent pubs and other venues.

  1. Walking, Safety and Accessibility

5.1. Tours take place in public streets and may include uneven pavements, steps, narrow passageways, historic surfaces and crowded areas.

5.2. Participants should wear suitable footwear and clothing appropriate to the weather and route.

5.3. Participants must take reasonable care of their own safety, personal belongings and the safety of others, and follow the guide’s reasonable instructions.

5.4. Please contact us before booking to discuss any mobility or accessibility requirements. We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate these where practicable, although the historic nature of parts of the City may impose limitations.

5.5. Participants are responsible for deciding whether they are able to undertake the walking involved, taking account of their individual circumstances.

  1. Cancellation by You

We understand that plans can change. Our voluntary cancellation policy is as follows:

  • More than 7 days before the tour: full refund of the tour fee paid.
  • Between 48 hours and 7 days before the tour: 50% refund of the tour fee paid.
  • Less than 48 hours before the tour: no refund will normally be available.

The applicable period will be calculated by reference to the scheduled start time of the tour.

Refunds will normally be returned to the original payment method.

These arrangements do not affect any cancellation or refund rights you may have under applicable law.

  1. Cancellation or Changes by Us

7.1. We may need to cancel, postpone or make reasonable changes to a tour because of illness, guide unavailability, severe weather, safety concerns, venue closures or other circumstances that prevent us from delivering the tour as planned.

7.2. If we cancel a tour, you may choose either:

  • A full refund of the tour fee paid; or
  • An alternative date, subject to availability and your agreement.

7.3. If a significant change to the tour is required, we will notify you as soon as reasonably practicable and discuss appropriate alternatives.

8.2. Tours will normally depart at the advertised time. We cannot guarantee that the guide will be able to wait for late arrivals.

8.3. If you arrive late, contact us if possible. We will advise whether it is practical and safe for you to join the group at a later point.

8.4. No refund will normally be available for missed tours or late arrivals, subject to applicable law.

10.1. Participants must treat the guide, other participants, venue staff and members of the public with courtesy and respect.

10.2. We may end a participant’s involvement in a tour in cases of serious misconduct, harassment, discriminatory behaviour, threats or conduct that creates a safety risk.
